Larry McMurtry is one of my favorite authors. I loved Lonesome Dove, the Berrybender series, The Last Picture Show, Duane's Depressed, Terms of Endearment, and on and on.....but Zeke and Ned was fantastic! I don't know what else to say, but I do recommend that everyone who looks at this book should go ahead, buy it, and read it! It is funny, tender, brave, reckless, determined....makes your heart soar and ache....brings laughter to your throat and tears to you eyes. I can't give this book any more praise!

My first Larry McMurtry book after seeing all his movies. So well written. Could not put it down. Great character development. Would recommend this book to anyone. Me...I'm off to next McMurtry book.
If you like McMurtry, you'll love this. Laughter and tears with a good dosage of historical context thrown in. A great read.
JUST VINTAGE MCMURTRY. FICTION AND HISTORY MESHED INTO A COMPELLING STORY. THE STORY OF THE "TRAIL OF TEARS" IS AN ACTUAL INCIDENT AND IS A BLACK MARK ON THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT'S TREATMENT OF NATIVE AMERICANS. IF MC MURTRY GOES ON FOREVER I WILL CONTINUE TO READ HIM.THANK YOU MR. MCMURTRY.
If you are a fan of McMurtry then you will be a friend of Zeke and Ned. This world is inhabited by the normal McMurtry curious eccentric cast of common characters, aptly named. If you have read Boone's Lick you know of them. The storyline although fine, was there more to showcase this fine troupe, and the places they lived, roamed and pondered at. There was no more point to the story than that. But it did its job. I will miss these people.
